First, let me say that the Blu-Ray version of this is crisp and orderly. Gave me some minor issues loading at first but after I got those cleared up, it was quiet sailing.

The features themselves are not very long. I’ll talk about them individually:

Hulk Vs. Wolverine - This was before his X-Men days as Wolverine was working for Department H. The Hulk invades Canada and Wolverine is sent to hunt him down to discontinuance him or do him down for genuine. The fight between them is short but heavenly violent. Wolvie even makes the Hulk bleed in this one!

Buy,Download, Or Stream Hulk Vs.! Click Here

Not a lot of residence to this adventure but we do glean appearances from Wolverine’s rogue gallery in the forms of Sabretooth, Lady Deathstrike, Omega Red and (most moving of all) Deadpool. Also, these guys explored Wolverine’s time with the Weapon X project in a plan that none of the fascinating series’ could go (not even the classic ’90’s series) nor has the movies gone yet. Ending is unresolved but hey, this feature gave us what it should and that’s a fracture mouth donnybrook!

The Hulk Vs. The Distinguished Thor - In this one, Loki (the step-brother of Thor) brings The Hulk to Asgard, seperates him from Banner and takes control of him in order to wreak havoc in the Kingdom of Asgard. But his notion backfires and now Thor (as well as Loki and all of Asgard) faces the paunchy fury of a Banner-less, mindless Hulk! While not bloody as Hulk Vs. Wolverine, its no less violent as The Hulk does do a brutal beating at one point on Thor, nearly killing him! This one also has a bit more memoir to it than the previous feature.

There are also several features to this release. The most captivating, to me, is the tedious the scenes of both features as well as a tribute to Jack Kirby as it relates to Thor. There is also footage of Hulk Vs. Wolverine at one of the vast Laughable conventions.

Overall, I was satisfied with this release. I would not, however, recommend this to petite children. This is definitely a feature that should only be viewed by teens and adults. It might be too intense for younger kids. Plus, there is brief language in Hulk Vs. Wolverine during their fight so if you are the kind of person that gets offended easily or is a Bible thumper, this isn’t for you.

Its a expansive release overall.

So far I have been very unimpressed by what Marvel has offered in the diagram of enthralling movies. There is such potential there, but they have dropped the ball over and over. DC really has it together and the Justice League Unlimited cartoon is argueably the best tantalizing superhero cartoon of all time. Marvel has opted to exhaust sub par animators with stories better good to exiguous children. This is the movie that is redeeming them

Out of the two, Hulk vs. wolverine is by far the best. The account for Hulk vs. Thor is very righteous, but the animation is considerable like some of there unusual releases. It looks like the X-men Evolution series mixed with Ultimate Avengers. The character designs are straight out of the droll and the legend is something that would appear in a comical. This alone is better than anything Marvel has done, now on to the friendly stuff.

When I say the preview to Hulk vs. Wolverine, I figured that it was the best scene in the movie. Seeing wolverine dripping blood from his mouth and then forcing his arm into station, seeing the hulk and jumping out of the diagram at the last second was wonderful. It really objective got better and better. The animation is very unusual. It is very stylized and really made Wolverine out to be the animal he truly is. The dialogue was vast, they really pinned Wolverine and the hulk was awesome.

Marvel has finally outdone themselves with this animation. To often they tone everything down and alter their properties to be kindly for kids and the general public. They water their characters down so that anybody who knows nothing about any of the characters can follow along. This is one for the laughable fans. This cartoon was straight out of the comics! They even had a scene where the Hulk’s reflection was flashed in Wolverine’s claws like the well-known McFarlene veil! The fight is brutal! Wolverine is a complete animal and the hulk is giant! Wolverine slices him and lets the blood flee!!! The hulk is a monster and beats wolverine to a pulp, it impartial goes support and forth.

This movie also has some ample appearances by Deadpool, Lady Deathstrike, Omega Red and Sabretooth. They are done properly! Sabretooth is a psycho like the comics, not the sniveling lackey they potray in the movies. Deadpool is hilarious as well! You even net to stare Wolvie in his Weapon X gear. They took a miniature leeway by adding all these characters to weapon x, but the fight were brutal.

This is a must have for marvel fans! Finally a cartoon for fans of the funny, finally they nailed wolverine as well. This is the best cartoon I have seen in a long long time!

Although this (along with “Golden Collection Volume 6″) represents the waste of this series, Warner reportedly DOES understanding to release additional Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies cartoons on DVD impartial not in this series or configuration. That said, “Looney Tunes: The Spotlight Collection” is a very friendly distillation of the necessary cartoons from the “Golden Collection” focusing worthy less on the rare/vintage war time cartoons and more on the mainstream favorite releases that played from the 30’s thru the 60’s. What’s nice about this place is that it does include what are called “bonus” cartoons that, while they are not necessary, give you a taste of the more rare or current cartoons on “Looney Tunes: The Golden Collection 6″. While it would have been nice to include some of the commentary tracks that are on the bigger boxed dwelling or a featurette or two, this two disc space does a very generous job of highlighting (for the most share) the strengths (and weaknesses) of “Golden Collection 6″.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Looney Tunes: Spotlight Collection, Vol. 6! Click Here

The first disc focuses on cartoon superstars such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Foghorn Leghorn. These include:

“Baby Buggy Bunny” (A Bugs Bunny cartoon) features Bugs matching wits with a robber who looks like a baby (and uses this to cover out with Bugs) . It’s quite clever and has typical Jones/Maltese touches.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Looney Tunes: Spotlight Collection, Vol. 6! Click Here

Broom-Stick Bunny-Bugs has a battle of wits with a witch who needs him for her recipe.

“Too Duck…or Not to Duck” A Daffy Duck/Elmer Fudd cartoon by Tedd Pierce and Chuck Jones. Daffy is in his goofy incarnation and the relationship here hints at the one that Jones would originate between Bugs and Elmer later.

“Birth of a Belief (one of the rare war time efforts included here from Volume 6–a gigantic one I might add) belongs to the Blue Ribbon group of reissued cartoons which means there are no credits for who wrote and directed it but it certain is a Bob Clampett concern that follows Daffy Duck as he tries to obtain a home for the winter by “appearing” to establish a dog from being poisoned.

“Crowing Wretchedness” features the first appearance of Foghorn Leghorn with Henry Hawk, Sylvester(!) and “Dog” as Henry looks for “dinner” on the chicken farm. A nice commentary track for Foghorn Leghorn fans would have been nice. The proper “star” of this is Henry Hawk but when Warner discovered the appeal of the southern Leghorn, Director Robert McKimson did others focusing great more on the rivalry between Leghorn and the Dog.

“Raw! Raw! Rooster” -Another Foghorn Leghorn cartoon directed by McKimson features Foggy’s “friend” from college that he can’t stand showing up on the chicken farm. Needless to say, he doesn’t warm to his friend showing up.

“My Accepted Duck”-One of the first pairings of Jones and Maltese also puts together Porky Pig and Daffy Duck as the latter tries to prevent Porky from camping out. Porky wears what looks like a baby nipple on his head. It’s a chuckle.

“Jumpin’ Jupiter” -A Chuck Jones featuring Sylvester and Porky Pig where the duo are whisked off to plot by an alien looking for “specimens”

“Satan’s Waiting” - A hilarious Friz Freleng danger though-provoking Sylvester and Tweety in which Sylvester goes to Hell after using all of his nine lives) . This one along with the one absorbing Porky, Sylvester and the troubled house explain that this comedic team certainly had some potential.

“Hook, Line and Stinker”-a later Road Runner cartoon from Chuck Jones lacks some of the bite of some of the earlier ones.

“A Ham in a Role”-Features the Goofy Gofers one of McKimson’s characters that are a more polite knock-off of Chip and Dale who match wits with a dog sick of being a “extreme comedy” star in the Looney Tunes cartoons.

“Heaven Scent” A Peppy Le Pew cartoon–my least common character and one that I objective never figured out the appeal of appears in a Jones written/directed pains that finds the amorous skunk once again going after the female cat in a case of erroneous identity.

“Often an Orphan” features a Chuck Jones character Charlie a dog abandoned by his owner who believes he has found the perfect owner in the gain of reluctant master Porky Pig..

“Dog Gone South”-Once again features Charlie the dog that no one wants because he is base this time matching wits with a southern plantation owner.

“By Word of Mouse”-Closes out disc 1 with the pairing Hans a mouse from “the worn world” who recounts his high-tail to America. It’s a primer on capitalism directed by Friz Freleng and written by Warren Foster.

Disc Two is entitled “One- Hit Wonders” and includes one-off cartoons with characters that didn’t reappear in any other cartoons. Many of these cartoons are terrific it’s unbiased that the the directors really couldn’t come by any other cartoons to consume them in or they unprejudiced didn’t appeal as noteworthy to theatergoers/theater owners (who gave the Blue Ribbon Award that often are seen at the beginning of some of these cartoons for what they perceived as the most approved cartoons) . These include:

“Rocket-Bye Baby” is a Michael Maltese-Chuck Jones science fiction classic where babies are delivered to the obnoxious planet. As with all of the Jones-Maltese collaborations its innovative, laughable and shows the unusual chemistry of these two who did some of their best work along with designer Maurice Apt.

“New Airedale” is one of the Blue Ribbon cartoons. These reissues often left off the credits as to who created the cartoon. The frustrating thing about the Blue Ribbon cartoons is they would often leave off the credits. Chuck Jones directed this pains.

“It’s a Hummer Time” is a Warren Foster-Robert McKimson collaboration. McKimson one of the finest draftsmen and animators often was slighted for the cartoons he directed simply because they didn’t have the quirky personality of Jones’ work or the slapstick insanity of Freleng’s. This is a terrific difficulty from McKimson with wonderfully rich characterizations.

“Mighty Ado About Nothing” comes from the Merrie Melodies line and again is a Jones-Maltese collaboration. Jones and his animators were always able to elicit laughs out of the slightest movement of a facial muscle and this one is no exception attractive a chipmunk who believes he has hit the motherlode when he discovers a peanut vendor.

“Goo Goo Goliath” catches the perfect team of Warren Foster and Fritz Freleng with expert animation by Art Davis among others. Focusing on a drunk stork who delivers the son of the Giant who lives at the top of a bean stock to a normal sized family.

“The Draft Horse” a classic Jones-Tedd Pierce war time difficulty was a turning point for Jones who had previously focused on cute Disney like efforts. This is one of the first where the director discovered his right quirky style.

“Lights Fabulous” is one of Freleng’s war time efforts giving us a plan of Times Square in Current York in the mid-40’s, focusing on the creative exercise of signs. It’s got a number of clever bits in it but unbiased reach together.

“Rookie Revue” is another war time short from Freleng giving us an imagery day in the army.

“The Weakly Reporter” a Jones/Maltese collaboration as with many of these one-off’s is related to the World War II. It’s a comical inspect at how the average person has been effected by the war. It’s got a number of clever gags.

“Wild Wife” is another McKimson/Foster exertion from the 50’s focusing on a woman’s typical day when her husband scoffs at the fact that she doesn’t have enough time to do all the chores.

“The Hole Notion” is another McKimson collaborating with Sid Marcus from the 50’s focusing on Professor Calculus inventor extraordinaire who createa a portable hole (a bulky decade BEFORE The Beatles discovered The Sea of Holes in “Yellow Submarine”)

“Page Miss Glory” is a very early anxiety with designs that firmly puts it in either the gradual 30’s or early 40’s before Warner developed the rambunctious style that would become a hallmark of the studio.

“Now Hear This” is a 60’s cartoon directed by Chuck Jones and Maurice Capable which uses a minimalist animation style, thicker lines that resulted from the utilize of copy machines and designs. It’s clever but not one that you would probably contemplate more than once.

“Norman Normal” fits in with 1967 and lacks any of the distinctive do or notice of classic WB cartoons. Directed by Alex Lovy this 60’s cartoon hasn’t played considerable and wasn’t in circulation for a long time so its inclusion will be tall for fans that saw it initially either during it’s theatrical rush or it’s brief tenure on the “Bugs Bunny” explain on TV.

“A Cartoonist’s Nightmare” dates from 1935 and is an early sad and white Looney Tunes cartoon directed by Jack King.

Warner has done a terrific job of cleaning up these shorts. A few of them haven’t been seen often since World War II but the bulk of them were trimmed and shoehorned into “The Bugs Bunny Explain” in the early 60’s. These are the uncut versions of the cartoons although in some cases we regain the re-release opening titles (such as the Blue Ribbon cartoons) which often don’t have titles. Nevertheless, they peek obedient with nice, gallant colors and tantalizing image quality. On some of the older ones you’ll sight occasional bits of dust that were on the real animation cels themselves. Warner chose to retain this in rather than over process the images.

The mono soundtrack sounds quite top-notch with the modern music that accompanied many of these cartoons sounding determined and robust in the mono mix.

The last area had a featurette that was a nice additional extra. It’s a pity that Warner didn’t impartial port over some of the commentary tracks for those that have them on “Golden Collection Volume 6″ because fans that grasp up this region may have an interest in the creation of the cartoons. I have to give Warner credit though in that with this region they included a healthy selection of strong cartoons as well as a couple of lesser known ones.

Disc one comes with these bonus cartoons;

“Heir Conditioned”-A Freleng cartoon featuring Sylvester who inherits a fortune (Elmer is his lawyer) and the good-for-nothing cats that try and select advantage of Sylvester.

“Rabbit Rampage” - Chuck Jones and Michael Maltese revisit “Duck Amuck” putting Bugs on the animation cel at the mercy of a deplorable animator. It’s not quite as humorous or ground breaking as “Duck Amuck” but it is laughable.

“Sniffles Takes a High-tail” - One of Chuck Jones Sniffles cartoons where he was under the influence of Disney cartoons focusing on cute and cuddly at the expense of posthaste and aroused.

“Yankee Dood It”-Features Elmer as King of the Elves who wants the Shoemaker to give all of the Elves up. It’s another primer in capitalism. Sylvester also appears and takes gargantuan interest in the Elves hoping that through the employ of a magic word to turn them all into mice.

Disc Two has the following bonus cartoons:

“Bartholomew Versus the Wheel” another mid-60’s concern by McKimson lacks the distinctive draftsmanship that was a hallmark of his cartoons aping the “search for” of what a ten year passe might plot.

“Punch Truck” finds Jones and Maltese working together again about a cramped elephant that stows away on a ship and comes into the U.S. It’s a cute cartoon.

“Sleep Time Possum” a McKimson/Pierce collaboration gives us the daily life of Mr. and Mrs. Possum and their indolent son “Junior” who spents all his time sleeping.

“Wild Wild World” is a McKimson/Ted Pierce cartoon that parodies TV programs and focuses on early man’s development hinting at the Flintstones with some of its acquire elements.

***

We also accumulate a variety of trailers for Charlie Brown cartoon specials.

This latest “Spotlight Collection” has a stronger selection of classic cartoons and characters than some of the previous ones and although it isn’t the best, it is one of the better “Spotlight Collections”. Including some of the bonus cartoons is a nice plus but why also port over any commentary tracks/music only tracks as well to obtain them truly “special features”. Image quality is top notch but if you are a great Warner fan I’d go for the “Golden Collection Volume 6″ since everything here is included there.

Disc one-4 stars while disc two-3 1/2 stars–extras: 3 stars. I’d give the total anxiety 3 1/2

Recommended

While these collections aren’t as extensive as the Golden Collections, they do offer an alternative to the more pricey ones, and many of the cartoons in it are some of the classics.I was able to pick up a few incredible gems among the very few clinkers that made getting these worthwhile, and I was elated to secure “Broomstick Bunny”, and the absolutely hilarious “Punch Trunk”, and “Rabbit Rampage”.If this is indeed the last Spotlight Collection, that is a dismal plan, because I do savor whatever I can pick up and there are serene many really superb classics out there.

If like a lot of people you first saw “Mickey & the Beanstalk” not in theaters but on television (usually preceding a feature, like “Dumbo”) you are in for a bit of a surprise.

This DVD contains the theatrical version, where the animation is interspersed with live-action footage of people at a party, who are “telling” the chronicle. This also means the wonderfully soothing TV-version narration (provided by Noble Halloway, also screech of Pooh) is gone. The extinguish result is that the cartoon drags on unnecessarily as the action is constantly interrupted by the live-action segments. Additionally, the live actors tend to acquire a bit chatty with their narration, and some of the humor they try to inject hasn’t broken-down well. With the capacity of the DVD medium, why couldn’t the TV version be tacked on as an extra?

Still worth owning (the attractive animation and music can’t be derailed even by the mediocre live action footage) –but be warned.

Okay, I have been reading the other reviews on this movie, and they all say things like “went on for too long”…”Scheme overhyped”…and things like that. I beg to differ. The two movies in this incredible DVD, Bongo and Mickey and the Beanstalk, are two family classics. As a child, I watched these two movies (on VHS, of course) over and over and over again. Willy the Giant characterizes my childhood in three words…”Potroast! Chocolate potroast!” And now, I know for a fact that my two itsy-bitsy brothers have memorized the whole movie of Mickey and the Beanstalk. I don’t want to ramble on forever, but I unprejudiced want to say that these two are the best movies that I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot of movies.

I’m rating this movie at three stars because of audio problems. Volume dips down in some areas, nothing more. Otherwise! I loved this movie! This film is immense fun. Don’t request gigantic acting. At best it’s below average. But thats okay, it works for this film. Besides there are plenty of blood-soaked babes running and bouncing around to withhold you glued to your seat. I loved this movie. I want to scrutinize a Stippers VS Zombies II with higher production value!

Now here is a film that was highly anticipated for months by many the fright fan and zombie fan alike. Okay, the topic alone, strippers and zombies, is pure fluff for the gratuitous B-movie blood-and-boobs crowd (the B&B crowd) . So if you like 1970’s exploitation cinema or today’s popcorn anxiety, you must be saying to yourself that you have to eye this. So let’s talk about the film.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Zombies! Zombies! Zombies! - Strippers VS Zombies! Click Here

The movie takes station around a gentleman’s club proper at the closing. As one would figure, the film’s characters are either bouncers or exotic dancers. With a few setup scenes, we are brought to understand that an amoral scientist at a private/government facility has a connection with a exiguous time suburban drug dealer. The dealer, a swarmy overweight man, steals some experimental drugs while the scientist retrieves a fix for the man. Eventually the dealer hooks up with a streetwalker and shares the experimental drug with her resulting in the beginning of a zombie outbreak (in the likes of 28 Days Later) . Since the streetwalker and her friends hang out waiting for johns at the gentleman’s club, the epicenter of the outbreak is the parking lot of the club itself. So far, so reliable, accurate?

Well, this film could have been mammoth for its genre. Unfortunately it takes itself for what it is rather than trying to play out as a lawful dismay or proper exploitation film. I’m as expansive a fan of apprehension comedy as anyone but the thunder here is that there were too many characters that were just caricatures and obviously written to be that. In most horror-comedies, the main protagonists are unaware that they are in such a film (i.e. Shaun of the Unimaginative, Spoiled Dull 2, Feast, Dance of the Dreary, etc.) . Here, however, we collect a few characters that honest don’t work (specifically the pimp character and his main girlfriend) . As a result, we salvage a fun and gripping film but ultimately a film that unrealized its potential. Being a zombie stripper film, one would judge that their would be a lot of blood and boobs. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case. The gore will satisfy the B&B crowd but the boobs are few for such a film.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Zombies! Zombies! Zombies! - Strippers VS Zombies! Click Here

All in all, the film gets 3 stars. There were a few standout performances especially Jessica Barton and many of the actors in smaller roles (such as the drug dealer, the main streetwalker, the DJ, and the scientist) . The screenplay was marvelous with constant zombie and guts action, and the film had helpful residence pieces. The unrealized potential of the film, however, is gloomy since this film could have been a cult classic; a correct blood-and-boobs classic. Instead, we only fetch a popcorn film to savor.

The DVD deserves mention as a standout. The extras and documentaries were expansive. The people late this film, the writer and director, have spacious futures ahead of them. And don’t forget the cameo by Tiffany Shepis in a pre-credit five cramped scene at the beginning of the film. As always, she was mammoth.

ST. CLAIR DVD multi-packs are reasonably priced, and offer pretty quality video/audio transfers of unrestored public domain material. Discs are single-side recorded, plastic storage cases fairly sturdy, liner notes appear on box’s befriend camouflage.

HIGHLIGHTS of the BORIS KARLOFF COLLECTION:

In Roger Corman’s THE Awe, Karloff costars with up-and-comer Jack Nicholson. An atmospheric color film somewhat hampered by a rushed production and two directors, THE Panic feels like two different movies at times. Legend involves a French military officer infatuated with a mysterious woman, and an eccentric customary castle dweller.

Have you ever wondered what the person late Rocky the Flying Squirrel and all the customary witches in “Fractured Fairy Tales” looked like? If so, SABAKA is your chance to come by out. Cartoon screech specialist June Foray appears as the High Priestess in this fable spot in India about a revenge-obsessed elephant trainer. Pleasant cast, so-so sage.

DICK TRACY MEETS Hideous is one of the better entries in this 1930s-’40s movie series. Here, Karloff is a villain who robs banks by using nerve gas. Tracy is played by Ralph Byrd, who would continue this franchise on TV briefly in the early 1950s. Anne Gwynne, aka Tracy’s girlfriend Tess Trueheart, was a celebrated pin-up girl during WWII.

LOWLIGHTS:

The four “Mr. Wong” movies in this place. Karloff is miscast, for he plays the somewhat eccentric Oriental detective stiffly (almost uncomfortably) and with a British accent. Well… at least the stories are proper.

Micha Wald has created a strong masculine drama as writer and director of ‘VOLEURS DE CHEVAUX’ (IN THE ARMS OF MY ENEMY), a film with a big sweeping concept of nineteenth century life in the site of Russia and has accomplished this with a very petite budget, a cast a both unknown and unique actors, and a production crew sensitive to region and atmosphere. For some reason the marketing of this film has been directed to a particular audience instead of emphasizing the gigantic spectrum of those who like sage dramas. It deserves very wide attention, as it is an pleasant meditation on the rigors of sibling appreciate among the destitute of the period.

Part I: Him: Jakub (Adrien Jolivet) is the exiguous but strong older brother of Vladimir (Grégoire Leprince-Ringuet), a gentle and pleasing young lad who depends on Jakub’s ‘parenting’. The two destitute brothers fend for themselves, dressed in rags, begging for food and work, until they encounter a group of soldiers who are enlisting young men to be Cossacks. Jakub sees the opportunity for food and shelter and ‘belonging’ and encourages Vladimir to join him in enlisting. The rigors of ‘boot camp’ drive Jakub to uncertain extremes and result in his being punished and imprisoned for varying periods of time while he smooth masters fighting techniques and equestrian skills: the more defenseless Vladimir falls victim to abuses at the hands of his fellow recruits. When Jakub discovers that Vladimir has been raped, he resorts to serious fighting and the two brothers are placed in a solitary confinement box. When their training period is over, the boys see the brutality of the Cossacks as they slaughter innocent families, and this is the breaking point that drives them to desertion. They hasten the Cossacks on stolen horses, but while bathing in a river, their horses are stolen.

Part II: Them: The horse thieves are two other impoverished brothers with a strong parallel - Roman (Grégoire Colin) is the stronger, pugilistic older brother who takes care of his younger brother Elias (François-René Dupont), a gentle lad crippled in youth by a goring from a ram but who maintains an ability to communicate with animals. They live humbly in a forest shack and an underground hideaway, and when they accomplish their rare excursions into the village tavern, Roman jealously guards the more fragile Elias, threatening even the girl Virina (Mylène St-Sauveur) with whom Elias is infatuated. Using a combination of their skills, Roman and Elias pick the horses of Jakub and Vladimir, and the trot of vengeance begins.

Part III: Us: Both sets of brothers are needy and their destinies collide due to the theft of horses. Tragedies mount, both sets of brothers intensify their filial bond of compassion, but the older brothers fight to the death of one and in the slay one of the brothers provides benefit to the survivor of the other place of brothers and the ending leaves the audience to guess the future altered by violence and need.

Micha Wald draws distinguished performances from his young cast of heavenly actors and with a minimum of dialogue ( in French with English subtitles) he creates wholly credible characters about whom we care very distinguished. The cinematography by Jean-Paul de Zaetijd is marvelous and the haunting musical gather by Jóhann Jóhannsson, Jeff Mercelis and Stephan Micus is rich in capturing the harmonies of the music of the period and the space. In all, this is a visually shapely film and a epic that is subtle and touching and impressively sophisticated in the manner in which it is told. Highly recommended. Grady Harp, September 08

I’m weary of films claiming to be erotic, homoerotic, or anything to do with men in appreciate, that honest aren’t. This is about men killing each other. The only savor scene is straight.

Another destroy of money unless you want to witness a movie about war, exasperate, revenge and rape. Nudity? what nudity? What versions are these other reviewers seeing?

The DVD under review greatly benefits from the computer-generated rebuilding of Persepolis under the direction of architects Wolfgang Gambke and Kourosh Afhami. This exquisite animation program is of broad relieve to “reconstruct” the layout and the landmarks of Persepolis that the soldiers of Alexander the Mountainous destroyed in 330 BCE for reasons that are not totally certain to this day. Persepolis detached has many secrets to shriek, despite the fact that its scientific restoration started in 1931 CE.

Viewers can exhaust “Persepolis Rediscovering the Lost Capital of the Persian Empire” for planning a future slither to Persepolis or reminiscing about their visit to the frail imperial capital. Nothing, not even this wonderful DVD, can replace the sensorial experience that I gained while I was meandering among the ruins of Persepolis. As a side impress, “Engineering an Empire” by The History Channel and “Secrets of Archaeology” by Koch Vision each contains a segment about the Persians and Persepolis.

All of my popular musicals were here and a few I’ve never heard of (of which I promptly rented and loved - The Harvey Girls is the die for) . I adored the interviews and the late the scenes footage (Sound of Music and Comic Girl anyone??? ) . What I like most about this DVD is that it has the Q&A session with Shirley Jones and director Note McLaughlin at the premiere I went to. I kept thinking, “I wish I could have a copy of it.” Well now I can. Here’s the sing of the bonus DVD I grabbed from their website:

James Toback, the director of “Tyson,” has commented in interviews promoting this film that he sees Mike Tyson as “a classically tragic figure.” The account, as presented here, of how he transformed himself from a lispy voiced overweight kid, who was regularly bullied while growing up in one of the toughest neighbourhoods in America, to a fighter, who at his peak was among the most dominant heavyweight champions ever, to the middle-aged man shown as he is today, his face wrinkled and his belly soft, his fortunes squandered, and his sense of self publicly shamed innumerable times for various imperfect acts both in and out of the ring, is a tragedy in it’s truest sense.

Toback has been friends with the worn heavyweight champion for several years and it shows as Tyson unguardedly reveals to the camera the damaged contradictive person that exists late the common image of his merely being some kind of brutal animal. Other than the numerous segments of archival television footage showing Tyson in the ring, in interviews or being followed in public, Toback’s documentary zeroes in on its subject and leaves Tyson the only person to appear on hide, his exclaim the only one that is heard. Sometimes he is shown in split mask with snippets of his monologue looped to command or overlapped to gain a sound collage, presumably to evoke the confusion in his obviously tortured mind, as he recounts the various losses he has suffered, the procedure he sees the scales of justice always balanced against him. The result is claustrophobic.

Like any tragedy this is not an easy anecdote to examine. At times it feels like you are looking at the wreckage from a violent road accident: once you inaugurate looking at it you want to explore away but can’t. Anne Carson suggests in her preface to Euripedes’ classical Greek tragedy, “Herakles” (a play those who are involved in Tyson should read), that watching stories of other people who are lost in their trouble and rage is great for us. It helps to cleanse us of our darkness. If you contain that, you owe it to yourself to discover out this film.

I was fortunate to relieve an early screening of this film. This movie is astonishing. If you ever had any plan of Mike Tyson, this movie will change it- helpful or unpleasant. He talks about every single aspect of his life and there is nothing from his extraordinary or disturbing past that goes untouched…
